This eclectic ensemble is composed of musicians with different musical roots, playing old and modern instruments. They seem to create mismatching flavours, whilst they actually assemble them in a consistent unity. The songs are taken from Cremonese composer Tarquinio Merula's books, Il secondo libro delle canzoni da suonare (op.9), Venice 1631, Curtio precipitato ed altri capricii, libro secondo (op.13) Venice 1638, and from Il quarto libro delle canzoni da suonare (op.17) Venice 1651. |
